Information about your order
Order confirmation :
We are a craft business and all our umbrellas are individually made. Production of the umbrella begins on receipt of payment.
Orders take approximately 3 to 6 working days to be produced and dispatched, with a signature required for delivery at home or at a relay point.
When the parcel is dispatched, you will receive an e-mail from the Post Office with a tracking number. If you are unable to collect your parcel, it will remain in the nearest post office or a relay point for 10 days.
After this period, the parcel will be returned to us and you will be responsible for the cost of reshipping your umbrella.
Order Process :
At each stage of your order, you will receive an e-mail informing you of the progress of your order :
– Order pending: for payments by check or bank transfer the status of the order is “pending”, the time to receive payment.
– Order in progress: when we receive payment, the order will change to “in progress” and we will start manufacturing your umbrella.
– Order completed: the manufacturing of your umbrella is complete. We will prepare your package and ship your umbrella in the next few days. When the package is shipped, you will receive an email from the post office with a package number for tracking.
Payment methods accepted :
- Credit card on the website with the 3D Secure payment system. Your bank will send you a one-time code by SMS or e-mail to validate the transaction.
- Cheque (payable to La Fabrique de parapluies François) to be sent to La Fabrique de Parapluie François - 137 Grand Rue 86000 Poitiers. Please enclose a letter with your order number and send an email to umbrella.artisanal@gmail.com to let us know when the cheque has been sent.. To enclose with a letter indicating your order number. and send an e-mail to parapluie.artisanal@gmail.com to let us know that the cheque has been sent.
- Bank transfer : for payments by bank transfer, enter your name in the transfer details and send an email to parapluie.artisanal@gmail.com indicating your order number in the subject line, to inform us that the transfer has been completed.
- Credit card by phone.
Important note : for payments by bank transfer and cheque, it is important to follow the procedure indicated, otherwise the order cannot be processed. If no payment is received within one week, we will consider the order cancelled.
Postage and packing :
Postage and packing are additional to the price of the umbrella. They are 13€ for one or more folding umbrellas and 17€ for one or more straight umbrellas for France. Your package will be dispatched to your home address or to a collection point, subject to signature.
For Europe, postage and packing costs are €16 for one or more folding umbrellas and €26 for one or more straight umbrellas.
Outside the European Union, postage and packing costs are €20 excluding VAT for one or more folding umbrellas and €35 excluding VAT for one or more straight umbrellas. Prices for umbrellas and shipping costs are exclusive of VAT for shipping outside the European Union.
Shipping rates for French overseas departments and territories, Canada and the United States are calculated at volumetric weight and not the actual weight of the parcel. For our folding umbrellas and depending on the zone, the cost of shipping a parcel is between €35 excluding VAT and €55 excluding VAT. For our straight umbrellas and depending on the zone, the cost of shipping a parcel is between 45€ HT and 85€ HT.
Umbrellas, postage and packing will always be free of tax for French overseas departments and territories, Canada and the United States, as well as for countries outside the European Union. In accordance with the new law of 1 July 2021, tax and customs fees are applied upon receipt of the package since our products are automatically sold tax-free when you purchase on our website via a country outside the European Union:
"Consumers who buy from websites that sell tax-free and do not charge VAT at the time of the online sale may be asked by the carrier to pay duties and taxes, including VAT, when their parcel is delivered. The carrier could then charge the consumer a handling fee in addition to the VAT."
For orders of several umbrellas, we ship in a single box.
Warranty :
Our umbrellas are guaranteed for one year and can be repaired throughout their life.
The guarantee does not cover problems resulting from abnormal or improper use of our umbrellas. An umbrella must always dry open (handle downwards) and you must close it only when it is dry.An umbrella is not designed to be used as a walking stick, as leaning it on the ground will damage the tip, nut and springs. If you want to walk with it, we make the English umbrella which is specifically intended for this use and adjusted to the size of the person.
Our umbrellas are sold without covers :
Our umbrellas are sold without covers. On request a cover could be made for 15€ for a folding umbrella or for 25€ for a straight umbrella.For a Shepherd umbrella, the cover costs €35, to which must be added €5 for delivery by mail. Cover requests are made by email or telephone. Payment for a cover can be made by check or bank transfer.
An umbrella should always dry open (handle down) and it should close it only when it is dry.Do not leave it wet in the cover for too long, this ends up damaging the materials and voids the warranty.
