We work with different fabric such as cotton, polyamide or taffeta, an exceptional polyester.
Our fabric could be plain, printed or woven.
We use different types of weaving such as serge or jacquard weave.

On all our straight umbrellas, we are using carbon fiber ribs (like the structures of kites). Even if there are high winds, your umbrella will not turn it inside out and will resist to the unpredictable forces of naturefor many years.
On our folding umbrellas, we use stainless steel and fiberglass ribs, even more resistant than the ones made from aluminum. The handles are made of maple but it is possible to ask us, depending the stocks, to put a chestnut handle instead., a straight handle rather than a curved handle, a leather handle or a knob.

The shafts are made of beech tree except from English umbrellas which are made with one piece of wood coming from hazel trees and chestnut.

Since 1882, we have always made sheperd umbrellas in a traditional way. The ribs are made from rattan and they are entirely crafted by hand. At François, we attach great importance to materials. Anyone who owns a François umbrella has in their hands a French product made entirely in the spirit of craftsmanship.
A large range of our production is presented on our website. But we could create bespoke umbrellas or on demand for our customers, and depending on our available stocks in our workshop : Bespoke and customisation production
Payment can be made by credit card on the website with the 3D Secure secure payment system (a one-time use code is sent to you by SMS to validate the payment), by bank transfer or by credit card by telephone. The manufacturing of the umbrella begins upon receipt of payment. Postage and packaging costs are in addition to the price of the umbrella. Order times are approximately 3 to 6 working days, the time it takes to manufacture and ship the package.

We do not use resellers for our umbrellas. They are sold directly from the producer to the consumer, with no intermediaries !
