These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are entered into between Fabrique de parapluies François and any non-trading individual wishing to make a purchase via the website.
La Fabrique de parapluies François reserves the right to modify the General Terms and Conditions of Sale at any time. However, modifications will not apply to transactions in progress at the time they come into force.

1. Ordering

You are bound by your order as soon as we receive it on our server, together with payment.
Acceptance of the order assumes that you are clearly identified by scrupulously completing the online order form. Order lead times are approximately 3 to 6 working days, the time it takes to manufacture and dispatch the parcel.

Our umbrellas are sold without a cover.

Our umbrellas are sold without covers. On request a cover could be made for 15€ for a folding umbrella or for 25€ for a straight umbrella.For a Shepherd umbrella, the cover costs €35, to which must be added €5 for delivery by mail. Cover requests are made by email or telephone. Payment for a cover can be made by check or bank transfer.

An umbrella should always dry open (handle down) and it should close it only when it is dry. 
Don't leave it wet for too long in the cover, this ends up damaging the materials and voids the warranty.

2. Prices

Prices are indicated in Euros, inclusive of all taxes, and include the VAT applicable on the day of your order, or exclusive of tax for countries outside the European Union.
Prices are subject to change at any time. You are informed of the price to be paid when you enter your order, and you undertake to pay the amount plus shipping costs in advance, at the same time as you transmit your order.

3. Warranty, Refunds and Exchanges

Our umbrellas are guaranteed for one year.

The warranty does not cover problems resulting from anormal or improper use of our umbrellas.

An umbrella is not designed to be used as a walking stick, as pressing it down will damage the tip, the nut and the springs. If you want to walk with it, we manufacture the English umbrella which is specifically intended for this use and adjusted to the size of the person.

For repairs during the warranty period, return and packaging costs are at our expense.
If the warranty period is exceeded, repairs and shipping costs are at the customer's expense.
For an exchange or refund within 14 days, postage and packing are at the customer's expense.

In accordance with article L.121.16 of the French Consumer Code, you have the right to return any items ordered. All products can be reimbursed except those excluded by law, for example products personalised at your request (raised English umbrella, umbrella with shoulder strap or made-to-measure umbrella).

For an exchange or a refund, you have 14 days from receipt of your parcel to return the order. You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs to return the item.
Shipping costs are non-refundable.

Depending on your request, an exchange or refund will be made.
However, products must not have been used or damaged and must be returned undamaged in their original packaging with any accessories, warranty and other documentation.

Depending on where you live, the time required to receive your exchanged product may vary.
Between 2 and 3 working days for France and 5 to 7 working days for Europe and countries outside the European Union.

You should consider using a delivery service that allows you to track the shipment or taking out delivery insurance. We do not guarantee that we will receive the item you return. Delivery is made by the carrier you have chosen. The carrier is considered responsible. In the event of damage, you must inform the carrier by registered letter within 3 days (excluding public holidays).

4. Payment

By credit card: when validating your order, you must enter your credit card number, expiry date and security code. To ensure payment security, the Fabrique de parapluies François uses the BNP secure payment service. This service incorporates the 3D Secure security standard (confidential data is encrypted on the server and is not transmitted to the Fabrique de parapluies François computer server at any time). Your payment request is routed in real time to BNP's secure telepayment manager, which carries out various checks to prevent abuse and fraud.

In accordance with the French law of March 13, 2000 on electronic signatures, the online transmission of your card number and the final validation of your order constitute proof of the completeness of the order and the payability of the sums due in settlement of this request. 5. Delivery

For each order, you will be asked to pay a flat-rate contribution towards the cost of processing the order (postage, packaging, preparation of the parcel), which will be communicated in the “Shopping Cart” stage of the order process.

Straight umbrellas:

For France: 17€ (one or more umbrellas)
For Europe: €26 (one or more umbrellas)
Outside the EU: €35 excluding VAT (one or more umbrellas)

Shipping rates for the French Overseas Territories, Canada and the United States are calculated based on volumetric weight
and not the actual weight of the package. For our folding umbrellas and depending on the area, the shipping rates for a package are between €35 excluding tax and €55 excluding tax. For our straight umbrellas and depending on the area, the shipping rates for a package are between €45 excluding tax and €85 excluding tax. 

Umbrellas as well as postage and packing will always be tax-free for DOM TOM, Canada and the United States as well as for countries outside the European Union. In accordance with the new law of July 1, 2021, tax and customs fees are applied upon receipt of the package since our products are automatically sold tax-free when you buy on our website via a country outside the european union : 

“Individuals who buy on sites that sell tax-free and do not apply VAT at the time of online sale, may have their parcel claimed by the carrier upon delivery, payment of duties and taxes, in particular VAT. The carrier could then claim a management fee from the consumer, in addition to VAT.”

Products may be delivered :

By Colissimo at home with signature or in a relay point: for shipments to Metropolitan France, Monaco and the French overseas departments and territories, delivery takes 2 to 3 working days.
For shipments to French overseas territories, the indicative delivery time is 5 to 7 days, depending on the destination.
For international deliveries, the indicative delivery time is 4 to 8 days, depending on the destination.

If you are unable to collect your parcel, it will remain in your post office for 10 days.
